My first publication
Something stirred in me when I read my first public publication. It is an article in the Society for the Physically Disabled's (SPD) quaterly magazine which summarizes what my Leadership and Team Building (LTB) team has done in the first term. To be honest, I was glowing with gratification while glancing through the sentences that I have crafted. Somehow, writing metaphorically takes me on an adventure each and every time. It is like pleasure enjoyed ephemerally, much like the 'high' that drug addicts experience on glue or heroin, only healthier.
Yet, a rush of guilt overwhelmed me as my team has pledged to continue the project after its conclusion. However, circumstances do not allow us to carry on our plans. The key engineer of the project - Yi Jia - has been struggling with personal issues as his dad is gravely ill with Thyroid Cancer, which is now in its third phase. The rest of the members are not too keen to carry on, and it will be a herculean task to take this project on by myself. As it is, we have to bid farewell to this project.
Nonetheless, reading the article with retrospection brought a warm, fuzzy feeling through my body. It was a meaning project that really took us much time and effort to complete. Through this project, the team really bonded and became good friends that thoroughly enjoyed each others' company. I'll leave you with this article: Walking the Talking eBook.
